Why?

Why Does it happen?

Xbox 360 is basically like a computer with a massive graphics card and processing card. The chip on the Grahics Processing Unit is very powerful and simply put, when you play it for a long time it gets hot. REALLY hot!

The soldor then melts and/or becomes brittle. It breaks, things aren’t secured anymore. The system packs up!

The ‘Nyko Intercooler’ which is designed to keep the core of the system cool causes a general hardware failure sometimes. as well as burning the power AC input cable. Nice!Microsoft have also told us that the ‘intercooler’ drains too much power from the console and can causes over heating. You might have thought they would have figured this out in testing before launch? Apparently not.

The ‘heat sinks’ that are built in are designed to dissipate the heat. However, sometimes these sinks are badly ventilated or the fan is not good enough as the temperature rises  and therefore become so hot that they melt the thermal compound between the processing units and the heat sinks.

When this happens the processing units come in direct contact with the heat sinks resulting in general hardware failure as they then overheat. Theya re not designed to operate in such heat! That is the main reason why you get the Xbox 360 red light error.

So the general problem is overheating. Click on ‘the Solution’ tab above to find out how to remedy this.
